Cândida Proença nasceu em 1972, em Paris. Reside na cidade universitária
de Coimbra, onde se licenciou em Línguas e Literaturas Modernas.
Aos vinte anos é-lhe diagnosticada Esclerose Múltipla, facto que a obriga a andar de cadeira de rodas. Docente por vocação, afirma que nasceu com duas missões: ser mãe e professora. Enfrenta um cancro desde 2018 sem perder a esperança. Luta pelos direitos dos portadores de mobilidade reduzida, elaborando roteiros turísticos acessíveis. Escreve para mitigar a dor e usa o sorriso como arma de combate.

Cândida Proença was born in Paris in 1972. She lives in the university city of
of Coimbra, where she graduated in Modern Languages and Literatures.
At the age of twenty, she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, which forced her to use a wheelchair. A teacher by vocation, she says she was born with two missions: to be a mother and a teacher. She has been facing cancer since 2018 without losing hope. She fights for the rights of people with reduced mobility, creating accessible tourist routes. She writes to ease the pain and uses her smile as a weapon.
