Madeline Soto was just 13 years old when she was reported missing on Monday, February 26, 2024. Her body was found days later in a bamboo tree grove 22 miles from home. The boyfriend of Maddie's mother, Stephan Sterns, was eventually arrested and charged with both SAing Maddie for years and for doing her in. Maddie's mother, Jenn Soto, was interviewed early on.
But Jenn was also interviewed again on nearly two months later on April 18 of 2024 by officials with the Homicide Unit of the State Attorney's Office in Kissimmee, Florida, police department. Two Kissimmee detectives were present as the chief of the State's Attorney's Office grilled Jenn Soto, but they also gave her a type of immunity in that nothing that she said on the 18th could be used against her, provided everything she stated was found to be true. So even if what Jenn said on April 18 contradicted what she'd said in previous interviews, the police said they would not charge her for those earlier lies. The deal was: tell the truth today, but if you don't tell the truth today, we can charge you if we find out you're lying. Jenn's attorney was present for this interrogation. Yes, she had lawyered up by this point as she well should have. Anyone in her position would be smart to have a lawyer with her.
This is my Part I of this long April 18, 2024, interrogation. I will be giving you an organized synopsis of what Jenn said and sharing my thoughts as to the significance of certain comments/actions. I will also let you know when I believe Jenn is lying. Yes, there are some things where I still feel she may be lying, but they concern details that the police probably cannot verify.
Enjoy!
