Of all the celebrities I've interviewed on the radio over the past 51 years, I must admit that Gary Busey was the strangest. I had been warned that he was unpredictable, and could be argumentative and brash. Even so, he still surprised me with his outbursts about facts that I had wrong, the Catholic Church and lots of other surprises. His segment was so startling at times, that before we aired the interview, we prepared a promo that aired teasing the fact that is there any question that Joey can ask Gary that he might get right? It was a funny way to prepare the audience for an intriguing visit with an unusual man.
