Na conversa, ele lembra que começou a pesquisar o tema ainda nos 1960, quando o futebol não tinha grande espaço na academia. O professor também comparou a linguagem do futebol no Brasil e em Portugal, tema de uma de suas publicações, tratou da influência da televisão e ainda comentou seu mais recente livro: Futebol Falado – E sua dramática linguagem figurada.
