In this episode I bring a lesson from the book Who Moved my Cheese, available on Amazon. I don’t like change, do you? Let’s be honest, no one does. This is the story of several characters where two of them are mice and they’re always chasing the cheese, but it keeps moving. The book details seven steps to look at when changes are presented to you. Although I mentioned all seven of them in this podcast, I only focus on one specific one to deep dive into. In this episode I will speak of leadership and explain how you are a leader and need to adapt to change quickly. Many times, you must look at things backwards after they happened to realize what just did in fact happen. You may not always be prepared for change but need to be prepared for dealing with it. I briefly explain what happened to myself and how my cheese moved although I was not prepared. Yet I was able to pivot immediately. I also then go into five ways to look for changes and how to prepare for them. In this ever-changing environment it’s more important than ever to have a mindset that will help you overcome these changes. I also dive into the true story of the toy company Legos. And how their cheese kept getting moved constantly to the point that they almost went bankrupt. Yet when they were able to follow the cheese so to speak, the company turned around and now is one of the biggest companies in the entire world. It’s a clear example of how to adapt to change. So, I want to challenge you with what you can do when change comes upon you suddenly. Whether the changes are immediate or overtime you need to be prepared either way. This podcast will help you prepare for change whether it’s now or the future. I also mentioned my own book Closing the 18-inch Gap which the podcast is based on. Enjoy the show!
