Many years ago, the world revered the well-rounded individual. In fact, he was called a Renaissance Man, named after the Renaissance period of history (from the 14th century to the 16th or 17th century in Europe). This person is well educated, and has a broad knowledge of the arts, the sciences, and the world at large. He also excels in a variety of areas including music and storytelling, and is charming and witty.
In episode 92, Genny spoke with Robert Young, who (according to Genny) embodies the characteristics of a Renaissance Man! Robert is a celebrated published author, musician, and owner of Writers and Rockers Coffee Company. He’s also co-owner of Radiance Gifts (with his wife Lisa), one of Canada’s most comprehensive and largest metaphysical stores that provides gifts to promote creative, personal and spiritual growth. And he’s a coffee master who produces a line of literary and music themed coffees!
Robert shared a few snippets and the back stories from his books including “Three Days With Mary”, “Tetelestai”, “Second Chances”, “What Doesn’t Kill You – the Lyle Bauer Story”, and “Dieter Brock – The Birmingham Rifle”. He also spoke about his relationship with many well-known musicians such as Todd Kerns and Lee Aaron, who inspire his creativity when it comes to roasting their special blends of coffee.
As well, Robert shared how important it is to give back and spoke about his involvement with the “Never Alone Cancer Foundation”, conceived by Lyle Bauer after his bout with throat cancer in 2004, and also shared that proceeds from a few of his musically themed coffees are donated to charity.
Finally, Robert was thrilled to share that he’s created a special blend of coffee (dark roast of course!) for 92 CITI FM, Winnipeg’s rock station. And it’s very apropos that its episode 92 that shares that news!
