A special two part episode brought to you by Cork Out History and Passed Pod! Philippa of Lancaster was born in the spring of 1360 within the walls of the Leicester Castle. In 1387 she would do the opposite of what these two podcasters did and relocate to Portugal! Marrying king John I of Portugal, they would initiate a new dynasty and give birth to a new period of Portuguese history. To talk about such an impressive figure we had the privilege of having our first guest on the podcast! We joined forces with Veronica from @passedpod and we are thrilled to bring you a double episode. On our episode you will hear all about Philippa’s life AFTER she moved to our southern pastures and if you want to know how she got there you’ll have to go and listen to the first part of this double treat @passedpod! Now tune in and marvel at the mother of Kings and way, way more than that! #corkouthistory #corkouthistorypod #corkouthistorypodcast #podcast #historypodcast #history #philippaoflancaster #lancasterhistory #johnofgaunt #dynastyofavis #avis #illustriousgeneration #medievalhistory #medievalpodcast #medievaltimes #portugal #england #leicester #lancaster #portuguesesxpansion #fiftheenthcentury #passedpod
