Even when we sin, God still shows us grace so abundantly that it changes our minds about our behavior; it causes us to want to stop sinning and to please God. He does this by showing us mercy for things we do not deserve. Our faith, not in what we do but in what Jesus has already one, activates grace to begin working on our behalf. This frees us from constantly striving through our own efforts, and enables us to confidently trust in Jesus’ finished works.
