BIO: Alan Vey, 25, and Annika Monari, 24, met in 2012 when they were both studying for their masters at Imperial College London. Very quickly they realized they had a lot of areas in common, with the passion and determination to forge their own paths. Annika was fascinated by Physics and interned at the John Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory before starting her thesis, whilst Alan had an affinity with economics and took a year out to work at the Deloitte Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre, going on to study Artificial Intelligence for his masters. As the two worked more closely together they realised they could use their joint expertise across maths, economics and technology in business by harnessing the Ethereum blockchain. Whilst looking at ways to make digitally enforceable agreements using blockchain, added guidance from Professor William Knottenbelt, the Director of the Cryptocurrency Research and Engineering Centre at Imperial College, helped them explore more ways to utilise this technology. That is how Aventus was born. Alan and Annika have created a business that weaves together their passions and areas of expertise with a mission they believe can truly make a difference. The duo released the alpha version of Aventus in July 2017. Shortly thereafter, their successful pubic token sale attracted over 1,300 participants, lasting just seven minutes. The platform is now live, as the Aventus Protocol was deployed onto the Ethereum MainNet on June 20, 2018. COMPANY DESCRIPTION: Aventus is a blockchain-based protocol that delivers increased trust, security and control for the live-event ticketing industry, practically eliminating counterfeit tickets and unfair scalping. Organizers can create, manage and promote their events and associated tickets, dramatically reduce platform costs, and significantly influence secondary markets.
