Immigration is an area filled with several myths and our intention is to separate fact from fiction in this conversation.
Examples of these myths include,
“Immigrants are a major source of crime.”
“Immigrants increase economic inequality.”
“It’s easy to immigrate to America and we’re the most open country in the world.”
These talking points have long plagued the conversation surrounding immigration.
We will also take a look at the 'model minority' myth and how it masks its overt racism as an uplifting of Asian Americans at the expense of other racial and ethnic groups such as black and Hispanic Americans.
Today we would like to discuss the validity of these claims and implore our listeners to further this conversation on their own with questions such as “should immigration be a human right?”
