Filco Carting is a leader in commercial waste collection services in New York City, offering job and life skills training sessions to members of underserved communities. The trainees, 66% of whom were formerly incarcerated, learn about holding down an important job, safety protocols and what life in the workforce is like. The program operated by FILCO trains participants for careers in waste removal. To date, the program has assisted over 300 people with pathways to apprenticeship.
