*CONTENT WARNING: Brief historical discussion of asylums / mental institutions*
I'm trying out a new format/series this week. Rather than discussing 10 or so films for an hour and a half, I'll discuss a three-minute scene from a 72-year-old film for fifteen minutes. But boy, was there a wealth of material to plow through. This is definitely recommended to Alice in Wonderland stans and affionados.
*Nearly everything shared is accurate except the chronology of English asylums. The first known facility was built in 1247. But the 19th century was really when patients began to be treated like human beings, so I'm not too far off. You go, Harriet Mattineau and John Conolly!!!*
