Manage episode 415251385 series 3395486
PAIN @painnonprofit Founder Flindt Andersen and Jason LaChance sat down California Assemblyman Jim Patterson to discuss Assembly Bill 3171 with he originally introduced. And recently has been reauthored by Assemblywoman Esmeralda Soria to Hold Fentanyl Traffickers Accountable by increasing the punishment for selling more than 28 grams of fentanyl. It escalates the prison sentence from up to four years to up to 9. We also discuss a bill that Jim has been able to push through for greater penalties for human traffickers that includes restitution for their victims. This includes their therapeutic needs as well as financially which would come from their trafficker.
We also discuss other areas of public safety that must be addressed and why there is a shifting tied when it comes to elected officials view on failed public safety policies.
