The changes hitting the real estate world this August are monumental. New rules set by the Department of Justice will reshape how transactions are done, aiming to consider consumers more.

I’m joined by Dylan Carson, an Antitrust and Competition Partner at Manatt, Phelps & Phillips in Washington, D.C. Dylan is a seasoned trial attorney with significant expertise in antitrust litigation, federal and state government antitrust investigations, and competition law counseling.

We explore the massive changes coming to the MLS fields, driven by a $1.8 billion verdict against NAR. We also go over how buyer agent compensation will need to be communicated differently and the new requirements for buyer representatives. It’s all about making the system more consumer-friendly, even if it means more work for everyone involved.

Don’t miss out on our deeper dive into these pivotal changes at PropTech South on September 19, 2024.

Specifically, this episode highlights the following themes:

  • New rules on agent compensation in MLS
  • The impact of antitrust laws on real estate transactions
  • Practical steps to ensure compliance with the new regulations
