Jesus People are called, commanded and commissioned to Courageously Go.
Matthew 28:18-20 is the foundation of Jesus' heart for the world to know Him and for us, the church, to reach them. What we know as "The Great Commission." The last words on earth Jesus spoke.
18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Jesus didn’t leave his people with a religion, he left them with a mission. Jesus People Go. Jesus People Make Disciples of all peoples to the ends of the earth. The idea here is that Jesus is making for himself a people from every people group on earth. That’s what it means to be Jesus People. To be a part of a family made up of every people group on earth. This is what Jesus people live for. This is what Jesus people die for.
