Great dialogue on the topic of being Black in corporate America. We were joined by two amazing sisters - Francisca French (marketing professional) and Queen Imani (banking manager)! We talk about some of the struggle and disappointment with having to "play the game." From small things like hairstyles, to major issues of racism and discrimination - we touch on it all! For our "Let Me Put You On" segment, we played the new DVSN "P.O.V." R&B aint dead!! Major take-away: Mentorship is very important. find a mentor. Self awareness/knowledge of self is MAKE OR BREAK! Work to be the best YOU, and don't break your neck to "measure up." Nothing wrong w/ having a job, but keep at least TWO side hustles. As you come up, bring someone up with you. It's not fair, but the game ain't based off sympathy.
