Turning Point USA founder and conservative firebrand Charlie Kirk joins “Fearless” to discuss his recent comments that sparked controversy across the media. Kirk recently ran afoul of self-appointed gatekeeper of black Americans Roland Martin over a tweet critical of Central Park 5 “exoneree” Yusef Salaam. Still, it was Charlie’s comments on Dr. Martin Luther King that have made him the target of both liberal and conservative pundits. Jason says that Kirk’s comments should be the starting point for an honest conversation about MLK and the negative effects of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. “If the Civil Rights Act is Dr. King's achievement and Thomas Jefferson's achievement is the Constitution … look at the fruit that [the Constitution] produced. It was the justification for ending slavery, Jim Crow laws, and segregation. ... If the Civil Rights Act produced same-sex marriage, I got some questions about the Civil Rights Act.” King Randall, the founder of the Life Preparatory School for Boys, joins Jason to discuss the recent social media storm that rained down on him after an attempt to teach the boys proper table etiquette was framed by critics as teaching the kids “how to be white.”
