Dr. Tabia Pope, nationally certified Speech-Language Pathologist, Clinical Instructor at the University of the District of Columbia and the Founding Chair and CEO of Head to Speech, Inc. joins Glenn on the Field to discuss how concussions affect an athlete’s cognitive functions and speech abilities, the link between brain health and speech patterns, the differences between concussions and traumatic brain injuries, and the rehabilitation processes involved in speech therapy to help athletes recover from the aftermath of concussions.
