Pastor Robert Rohlin begins a new verse-by-verse exposition series of the epistle of James. The author was the half-brother of Jesus Christ and the head of the Jerusalem church. This book was written between A.D. 45-48 and is the earliest book of the New Testament. While Paul taught that before God, salvation is by faith in Christ alone, James taught that before men, our salvation is only evident by our behavior. God sees the heart, but men see our works. This is the most imperative book of the New Testament with 54 imperative verbs in 108 verses -- an average of 1 command every 2 verses- We have much to learn from this short epistle. This message focuses on the introductory information about the book and then explains the 4 characteristics we have as slaves of Jesus Christ. Pastor Robert Rohlin is the executive pastor at First Baptist Church Las Colinas, a family-integrated church in the Baptist Missionary Association. This church focuses on expository preaching to equip fathers to build strong families.
