In this chapter of our series through the Book of Judges, we explore the story of Gideon as it reaches its conclusion in Judges chapter 8. We recap the events leading up to this moment, including Gideon's humble beginnings, his reluctance to lead, and God's strange but purposeful preparation of him for battle. Despite overwhelming odds, Gideon leads a small force of 300 men against the vast Midianite army. The episode delves into the themes of faith, salvation, and the importance of dealing with the "enemies" in our lives, drawing parallels between the story of Gideon and our own spiritual journeys. We also see the tension between Gideon and the Ephraimites, who criticize him after the battle despite their reluctance to fight. Join us as we reflect on Gideon's faithfulness, duplicity, and leadership, and the lessons his story holds for us today.
