World Golf Hall of Fame member, Gentle Ben looks back on his youth, learning the game under the watchful eye of Harvey Penick, his second father, and being challenged by a young Tom Kite. Learn about the eerie history of Brookline in Ben’s life/career, where he discovered his love of the history and traditions of the Game at age 16. Ben and Bruce recount how their paths first crossed as the “Devil” gave an exhibition for the young men competing in the 1972 NCAA championship in FL. Share a magical moment as Bruce relates his story from the 1958 inaugural Eisenhower Trophy at St. Andrews where Bobby Jones gives an inspirational speech, one Ben has in his collection and is able to quote from memory. Hear about Ben’s remarkable amateur career and early tour successes as we talk architecture, technology and the most recent Masters.
