Faith is an awesome thing to have, especially when our faith is in something or someone that will never fail. But how well does your faith hold up during the rough patches in life? Is it rock-solid, or does it get the wobbles every now and then?

When life’s on a bit of a rocky road, one of the greatest assaults on our faith is doubt over whether God still loves us, whether our sin and our circumstances may have imperilled our eternity with Him.

Your enemy the devil wants to drive a wedge between you and the rock-solid, unwavering grace of God that would keep you safe today, tomorrow, forever. And the deeper that wedge goes, the further we drift from God – at least, that’s how it feels.

I know that there’s someone today somewhere in the world watching, listening to, or reading this message who’s in that place. And if not today, then certainly we can find ourselves in that place … one day.

Time to speak God’s powerful, life-saving truth against that attack because the enemy must retreat when the Word of God is spoken.

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God— not the result of works, so that no one may boast. (NRSV)

My faith, your faith, should never ever be in our own capacity to do good works; to honour God. Because that capacity isn’t rock-solid – it does fail from time to time. Our faith should always, always be in the saving sacrifice of Jesus on that Cross – because His sacrifice never fails.

For by grace you have been saved through faith; it is the gift of God.

That’s His Word. Fresh … for you … today.
