Ambarella’s ($AMBA) CV3 A.I. Chips to Compute with Next-Generation Autonomous Trucks
Manage episode 393164239 series 3366344
Ambarella (NASDAQ: AMBA), a leading AI semiconductor company, and Kodiak Robotics have extended their partnership, using the new Ambarella CV3 AI chip for Kodiak's next-gen autonomous trucks.
This system-on-chip provides a complete embedded solution for Kodiak’s multi-sensor perception, fusion and path planning—running neural networks while processing multiple cameras, lidar sensors and radar.
The companies have already had success with Ambarella's CV2 chip, covering 300,000 miles and delivering 875 loads. Now, they're upgrading to the CV3-AD685 for improved performance, safety, and cost-effectiveness. This new chip is smaller, more powerful, 20x faster, and energy-efficient, aiming to boost Kodiak's autonomous trucking capabilities.
Fermi Wang, President and CEO at Ambarella stated:“Our CV3-AD685 SoC provides the autonomous vehicle industry with the processing performance needed to set new benchmarks in AI-based autonomous safety, efficiency and innovation.”
Ambarella’s low-power systems-on-chip (SoCs) offer high-resolution video compression, advanced image and radar processing, and powerful deep neural network processing to enable intelligent perception
Shares of Ambarella trade on the NASDAQ under the ticker symbol AMBA. For more information, or to sign up for our free daily newsletter, visit www.greenstocknews.com
