Interests are our #1 Motivators yet adults often used them as punishment. What do I mean by that? Have you ever heard a parent or teacher take away a child's interest until they improve in a school subject? For example,
- Memorize the math facts and you can go back to art classes.
- No dancing until your spelling improves.
- Bring your grades up if you want to play tennis.
But we never hear anything like, NO SPELLING until your dancing improves or You CAN'T DO MATH until tennis improves!
