Connection seems to be a buzzword, but for Stephanie Browne, the M.C for this year’s Grrrl Live event, breaking down in front of a group of strangers started her on her path to recovery; and she learned to connect within herself. We all have parts of ourselves we are to scared/ashamed to show people and Stephanie was just the same. After doing the work she shares her story of how she dealt with the abandonment and co-dependency. In this episode we ask, do we need to expand the definition recovery to include emotional healing? We recognize that a lot of people base their opinion of themselves on what they believe others think of them. How this thought process can create an unhappy cycle. Stephanie shines a light into the dark corners of her recovery and talks about how she views herself now and the chain of events that led her to her to get in touch with her biological father.
