Hablah's Spanish Idioms in the News is a podcast for anyone who wants to learn Spanish through bite-sized chunks of language, delivered to you in audio format. Each episode is kept short and to the point, so you can fill in with Spanish those free minutes in your day, no matter how busy you may be! Every program uses a simple formula, "one short news story, one Spanish idiom", and it is structured as a mini-lesson: (1) First the news is read in Spanish by Alfonso Olmedo, the Spanish teacher at Hablah.com. The magazine-style news gives you a context where the idiomatic expression is used. (2) Then the meaning of the idiom is presented and reinforced through a quick quiz. (3) And some extra example sentences are added at the end. This Spanish podcast is offered to you in the form of two shows, published on an alternate basis, which are aimed at two different levels of Spanish: if you're an intermediate or advanced student, then your show is "Spanish Idioms in the News"; and if you're at a beginner level, then be sure to check out "News and Idioms in Slow Spanish". Hablah aims to make learning Spanish an enriching social experience—so you're warmly invited to visit us and take part! But while you're here, we hope you'll also make the most of this podcast to learn the language on your own! For more details, transcripts, and episode notes, please visit Hablah.com
