Welcome back to A Pod of Their Own, an all-women led Home Run Applesauce podcast where we talk all things Mets, social justice issues in baseball, and normalize female voices in the sports podcasting space.

This week, we begin by discussing the Mets’ mediocre July play, mostly due to the inadequacies of the bullpen. We also speculate on whether the Mets may buy or sell at the trading deadline and potential trade targets.

Next, we talk about Francisco Lindor and Brandon Nimmo being snubbed in the All-Star selections. We are very excited that Pete Alonso is in the Home Run Derby, but very much not excited that Marcell Ozuna is also in the Home Run Derby.

We also shout out the first all-female broadcast team in Cubs history and the hiring of Catie Griggs and the new head of Orioles business operations.

Finally, we wrap things up with Walk-off Wins, where each of us talks about what’s making us happy this week, baseball-related or otherwise.

You can listen or subscribe to all of our wonderful Home Run Applesauce podcasts through Apple Podcasts, where we encourage you to leave a review if you enjoy the show. It really helps!
