In this special episode, Richard Harris sits down with a trio of DI stars: USF’s Jonathan Mogbo, Mississippi State’s Josh Hubbard, and Clemson’s PJ Hall. All three currently play for teams in the mix for a spot in the NCAA Tournament, and each player is in the running for postseason awards.
Mogbo, a POY candidate in the WCC, leads the country in FG% (67.3) and PER (34.1). He ranks in the top 10 of DI for dunks (75, tied for 2nd with Zach Edey), win shares (2nd, 5.9), plus-minus (6th, 12.4), RPG (9th, 10.5), and REB% (3rd, 23.0). Additionally, in the WCC, he ranks in the top 10 for PPG (15.4), SPG (1.8, 1st), AST% (23.3), STL% (3.6, 1st), and BLK% (4.0).
Hubbard, a top-100 recruit who is in the running for Freshman of the Year in the SEC, currently ranks second in the conference for 3-point percentage. He is playing nearly 25 minutes per game and is averaging 14.8 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.7 assists. On the season, he is shooting 36 percent from deep and 82 percent from the FT line, and for points per possession, he ranks above the above 75th percentile on jumpers off the dribble, spot-ups, pick-and-rolls, and handoffs.
Hall is not only a POY candidate in the ACC but also a Wooden Award late-season finalist. He ranks in the top 10 of the ACC for PPG (19.5), RPG (7.2), BPG (1.7), and EFG% (54.7), PER (28.9), win shares (4.1), and plus-minus (10.5).
