The Alternatives Investment business at HSBC started in 1989, initially as an advisory business, before launching their flagship fund of hedge funds in 1996. Today, they are one of the largest Hedge Fund investors globally, managing $23.2bn AUM across commingled, discretionary and advisory mandates for high net worth and institutional clients.
