Shared the October 3rd story from 1988 where friend Russell and I drove all the way to Panama City Beach just for the day. Ran over a dog on the way (sad). Got New York Rochester Mission call that day too. Reading and interpreting Genesis 17 which is mostly about how important it is for males to get circumcised as it's a token of the promise the Lord is making with Abraham (Abram's new name). Lord also promises Sarah (Sarai's new name) a child, Isaac while still making promises to the child Abraham had with the maid Hagar, Ishmael who will be blessed (as long as he's circumcised too. Any males not circumcised with be cut off from the Lord's people.
