Anitra Deen is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Anitra Deen Consulting. She serves her clients as a fractional Chief Operating Officer (COO) and strategic planner to organize her clients' operations, plans, and processes for their business growth. She’s on a mission to support women entrepreneurs and small business owners to move from being stuck and disorganized to having the clarity, structure, and momentum to take that next, first step.
She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration at Mercer University and a Masters of Education at James Madison University. Anitra is currently writing a book, Organize Your Ducks: Strategies to Establish Longevity In Your Business.
In this episode, Anitra shares:
- An internship experience that helped her determine law was not the right fit career field for her to pursue
- Why she shifted her goal from following her passion to pursuing the path that allowed her to make the impact she wanted to make in the world
- How she discovered what she values most and how knowing what’s most important to her made it easy to walk away from careers in both law and higher education
- The importance of recognizing the value in transferrable skills and why graduate degrees aren't always necessary
- Two limiting beliefs that oftentimes keep us stuck in jobs that aren’t the right fit
