How often do we put off joy? Thinking

  • "I'll be happy when I get that promotion."
  • "I'll be happy when I lose 10 pounds."
  • "I'll be happy when I finally find 'the one'."

Seriously, who came up with that garbage?
It's like a happiness carrot dangling in front of us, always just out of reach.

Well, today we're flipping the script and saying, "I'll be happy NOW, thank you very much."
Hey, joy seekers! Welcome back to Joy To The World, the podcast where we ditch the "someday" happiness and grab joy by the horns right now. I'm your host, Joy, and today we're tackling a phrase that's been messing with our mojo for far too long: “You'll. be. happy. when…”

It's almost as if we've been conditioned to believe that happiness is something we have to earn, something that's reserved for a later date when. we. finally. achieve. that perfect job, that ideal body, or that picture-perfect relationship.

We tell ourselves, "I'll be happy when..." and then fill in the blank with some future event or accomplishment.

But here's the secret they don't tell you: that happiness isn't a reward for good behavior or a prize for reaching the finish line.

Instead, happiness is a conscious decision. we. make, a daaaaaaily commitment to finding. the good. in our lives, even when things aren't perfect.

It is a mindset. that embraces. gratitude, acceptance, and the simple joys of the present moment.
And the most liberating truth of all?

We. don’t. have. to. wait. for permission. from anyone or anything to start feeling happy.

We don't need external validation or a life free of challenges. to experience joy.

Happiness is available to us right here, right now, if we choose to embrace it.

So, how do we make the switch from postponed happiness to present joy?

Well, it starts with rewiring our brains, shifting our focus from what we lack to what we have. That nagging voice in your head, the one that's always whispering about your shortcomings, your failures, your unmet desires? That's the "lack" mentality, and it's the biggest joy-killer out there. Think of it like a joy-sucking vampire, lurking in the shadows of your mind, draining the fun out of every experience.

It fixates on what's missing, magnifying your insecurities and amplifying your dissatisfaction. It's a relentless critic, always pointing out what you don't have, what you haven't achieved, and what you're not good enough at.

But here's the big revelation, my friends: That voice is a liar. It’s a master manipulator, distorting your perception of reality and keeping you trapped in a cycle of unhappiness.

It wants you to believe that you'll only be happy when you have more, do more, or be more. But that's a recipe for endless disappointment and a life lived in constant pursuit of something that. may. never. come.

The truth is, you have everything you need to be happy right now. You have the power to choose joy, to cultivate gratitude, and to appreciate the abundance that already exists in your life. It's not about denying your desires or pretending that everything is perfect. It's about shifting your focus from lack to abundance, from scarcity to p
