The pads have come on and the physicality has increased at Miami Hurricanes training camp. Who have been the top performers? The Hurricanes will play their first scrimmage of camp on Saturday. Defensive lineman Akheem Mesidor, healthy again after missing most of last season, has been turning heads. Receivers Isaiah Horton and transfer Sam Brown have been doing very well. Tight ends Elijah Arroyo (healthy again), Riley Williams and freshman Elija Lofton have been revelations. Head coach Mario Cristobal has confirmed that the defense is ahead of the offense right now.
