Mark Pope's first press conference as the head coach of the Kentucky Wildcats could not have gone better, helping raise the vibes in Big Blue Nation. Support from former UK coach Rick Pitino didn't hurt either, and it sounds like Kentucky and Saint John's will square off at Rupp Arena this season in what should be a huge treat for folks in Lexington.

Pope may have killed the press conference, but now he needs to go to work building a roster which has seen multiple players leave via the transfer portal - including Aaron Bradshaw to Ohio State and Zvonimir Ivisic to Arkansas - as well as a handful of commits in the 2024 class. Can Pope convince any of them to stay committed to Kentucky? Can he somehow get Reed Sheppard to return to Lexington for another year? Or will he add any of the multiple players from BYU who are in the portal?
