This Beatles flick is more bizarrely fantastical than science fiction, but today's guest certainly has some serious sci-fi cred. Dan Richter is at the center of a Venn diagram of the grooviest art of the 1960's. He played Moonwatcher, the lead ape in the opening Dawn of Man sequence in "2001: A Space Odyssey," and yes, we get back to that for a bit here as well. He was a friend of Yoko Ono when she was pushing the avant-garde edge in the mid-60's, and later served as John and Yoko's personal assistant for the three years that included the Beatles' break-up, the "Imagine" album, and Lennon's most politically active period. Dan has some wild stories to tell. Here is his website: http://www.danrichter.com/ Please do like, subscribe, and rate on all the things like Facebook, Twitter, Apple Podcasts, and YouTube. Wherever you happen to be hearing us, really. Luke talks to you about true PokeLove at Luke Loves Pokemon: https://twitter.com/lukelovespkmn I don't think we could get away with actually sticking Beatles music in our podcast, but Matt’s music for today was mostly composed by playing the Revolver album backwards and transposing the chords into new compositions.
