I call Markie Williams a real life Hero. Her story is absolutely inspiring. She is a survivor and one who thrives even with such a horrific experience. I love her tenacity and willingness to share such a vulnerable experience. Please note that this episode goes through a lot of personal life and so no judgment zone at all.
Markie has a career in bodybuilding and is a national bikini athlete, fitness model and coach. Markie is also recognized as an advocate for victims of abuse, domestic violence and human trafficking and she collaborates with non profits in WA to help create awareness. Markie is the creator and director of her own podcast "Project Markie" featuring survivors of abuse and sharing their inspirational stories.
We discuss in this episode her life before trafficking; Her experience and how she now thrives after overcoming this.
