This week, Minor Revelations hosts our very first IRL couple, Ryan Spahn and Michael Urie! These stage and screen dazzlers have a collective confession to make to their friend Drew. But wait there’s more- one of them surprises the other with a revelation within the revelation- and Liza’s involved!
Ryan Spahn
Ryan Spahn is an actor and writer who can currently be seen on TV in Succession, The Bite, Chicago P.D. and Modern Love. He's appeared off-Broadway in Jane Anger, Good Enemy, How To Load A Musket, Daniel's Husband, Mr. Toole, Summer & Smoke, Still at Risk, Exit Strategy, and Gloria. As a writer, he has been published by Rotten Tomatoes, Metro Weekly, Talkhouse, and USA Today. His screenwriting credits include Nora Highland, Woven, Grantham & Rose, and He's Way More Famous Than You. Ryan is a graduate of Juilliard and is based in New York. Michael Urie
Arguably best known for his groundbreaking role as Marc St. James on ABC’s dramedy TV series, UGLY BETTY, Michael Urie has also appeared on hit shows such as MODERN FAMILY, THE GOOD WIFE, YOUNGER, WORKAHOLICS, and HOT IN CLEVELAND among many others. In December 2021, Michael led Netflix’s first gay holiday rom com, SINGLE ALL THE WAY, which instantly landed on the streamer’s “Top Ten” lists. Currently, Michael can be seen in AppleTV+’s SHRINKING. Michael also appeared in Todd Stephens’ SWAN SONG and on Broadway in Douglas Lyons’ raucous family comedy CHICKEN AND BISCUITS. Michael also recently directed Uptown Players’ SILVER FOXES, written by Stan Zimmerman and James Berg, in Dallas, TX. At the beginning of 2020, amidst the Covid pandemic, Michael put on a Livestream performance of the show from his living room, raising nearly $300,000 for Broadway Cares. Michael also starred on Broadway in the Tony-nominated revival of TORCH SONG, and is the co-founder and festival producer of NYC’s Pride Plays. He has also hosted Discover +’s CLIPPED and four seasons of Logo’s COCKTAILS AND CLASSICS. On stage, he directed BRIGHT COLORS AND BOLD PATTERS and produced HAPPY BIRTHDAY DOUG, both written and performed by Drew Droege and both captured for BroadwayHD. For the screen, Michael directed HE’S WAY MORE FAMOUS THAN YOU, THE HYPERGLOT and co-directed the documentary THANK YOU FOR JUDGING – all available for streaming. Ten years since Michael made his Broadway debut opposite Nick Jonas in HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING, they will be seen together again on the big screen in JERSEY BOYS LIVE.
