Hey there beachgoers, it's time for your New York surf zone forecast brought to you by the National Weather Service in New York!
Let's dive into what's happening along the coastlines today:
For Kings (Brooklyn) area, including Coney Island Beach and Manhattan Beach, we've got a low rip current risk with surf heights of 1 to 2 feet. The UV index is very high, so make sure to pack that sunscreen. Expect mostly sunny skies with temperatures in the lower 80s. By the way, watch out for those tides!
Heading over to Southern Queens with Jacob Riis Park and Rockaway Beach, it's the same tune - low rip current risk, 1 to 2 feet surf height, and sunny weather with highs in the upper 70s. Don't forget your shades with that very high UV index!
Now, for Southern Nassau including Atlantic Beach, Long Beach, Lido Beach, and Jones Beach, rinse and repeat - low rip current risk, 1 to 2 feet surf height, and mostly sunny skies with temperatures in the mid 70s. Southwest winds are joining the party later in the day.
Moving along to Southwestern Suffolk with Gilgo State Park and Robert Moses State Park, we're looking at a low risk of rip currents, 1 to 2 feet waves, and partly sunny conditions with lower 70s temperatures. And hey, that UV index is still up there!
Lastly, for Southeastern Suffolk including Smith Point, Cupsogue Beach, Hither Hills State Park, and Ditch Plains, it's low rip current risk, sunny skies, and temperatures in the mid 70s. There may be some patchy fog hanging around, so keep an eye out!
Remember, always stay safe in the water, keep an eye out for any changes in conditions, and have a blast riding those waves! Stay sun-safe and enjoy your time at the beach.
