Hey there, surfers and beach lovers! Let's catch up on the latest surf zone forecast for New York. Today, we're looking at a high rip current risk in effect until 6 PM. So, make sure to stay safe out there!
For Kings (Brooklyn) area, the surf height is around 3 feet with an east wind at 15 mph. It's a bit cloudy with a chance of rain, but hey, nothing can dampen our beach vibes, right? The surf temperature is in the upper 60s, so grab your board and hit those waves!
Moving on to Southern Queens, we've got similar conditions with a high rip current risk. The surf height is also around 3 feet, and the wind picks up a bit to 15-20 mph. Perfect for some adventurous surfers looking for a challenge.
In Southern Nassau, including Atlantic Beach and Jones Beach, expect more of the same: high rip current risk, 3-feet surf height, and cloudy weather. The east wind is blowing at 15-20 mph, so hold onto your hats!
Down in Southwestern Suffolk, the rip current risk remains high, and the surf temperature is in the upper 60s with a mid-60s high temperature. The east wind is cranking up to 20 mph, creating some exciting but challenging surfing conditions.
Lastly, in Southeastern Suffolk, the surf height is around 4 feet, making it a bit more exhilarating for the daredevils out there. Remember to always swim near a lifeguard and have a flotation device handy.
And remember, if you find yourself caught in a rip current, relax, float, and don't swim against it. Safety first, surf second!
