Coach Wes MIller's No. 17-ranked University of Cincinnati Bearcats basketball team will be without Dan Skillings Jr. for a while. The junior swingman had 17 points and 11 rebounds in UC's opener vs. Arkansas-Pine Bluff. The next day, he came in for a video review and his knee was swollen. He sat out the second game.
Skillings had a successful minor knee surgery Monday and indications are he'll be out a few weeks according to UC sources. Recovery period can vary by patient for the procedure.
"Dan's long-term health is the top priority for us, and we have full trust in our medical staff, led by our trainer Bob Mangine," head coach Wes Miller said. "Dan is a leader for our team on and off the court. We know he will continue to push and encourage his teammates. We hope to have him back on the court soon."
Skillings posted on his Instagram Sunday: "Don't forget you have to go through a test to be a testimony, Don't tell God that you have a big problem, tell this problem you have a a Big God!"
