According to the CDC's National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey, 42.1% of Hispanic women in the United States have experienced intimate partner violence. As of 2019, only four published articles over an eleven-year span that looked at Latina survivors of intimate partner violence showed an increase in positive outcomes for Latinas. These findings suggest that more robust domestic violence interventions in the Latinx community are needed and must extend beyond traditional individual therapy sessions with the survivor.

In this podcast episode, we speak with Dr. Serrata, an expert and advocate for the importance of cultural responsiveness and trauma-informed lenses in adapting domestic violence interventions in the Latinx community.
