The news of Texas covered today includes:

Our Lone Star story of the day: The rightful indignation over the State Fair of Texas deciding to ban licensed concealed carry holders from having their guns at the fair, over an incident that demonstrated the need for such, is warranted by all involved.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is right to go after the City of Dallas over the issue and legislator are right to push the State Fair board to get back to the right policy of allowing licensed concealed carry.
What bothers me is state Rep. Dustin Burrows of Lubbock leading the rhetoric in this matter in the state press when his home town’s large and historic Panhandle-South Plains Fair adopted the exact same policy several years ago. Where is all the pressure and press from Burrows on the same situation in Lubbock? One might think that getting more state press notice to move up the leadership chain in the House might be more important to Burrows than actually dealing with issues at home.

Our Lone Star story of the day is sponsored by Allied Compliance Services providing the best service in DOT, business and personal drug and alcohol testing since 1995.

A reminder of Lubbock County Judge Curtis Parrish arrogance telling citizens who don’t to pay more in property taxes that they should move – as well as saying that we all, or most of us, want to pay more taxes.
Attorney General Ken Paxton Sues General Motors for Unlawfully Collecting Drivers’ Private Data and Selling It To Several Companies, Including Insurance Companies

Comment on the City of Lubbock budgeting, taxes, and more. Also on the bait and switch tax break from the City of Dallas.
