Asian Battery Metals identifies copper and nickel targets at Yambat

Asian Battery Metals PLC (ASX:AZ9) managing director Gan-Ochir Zunduisuren sits down with Proactive’s Jonathan Jackson to discuss newly identified exploration targets at the Yambat Copper-Nickel Project in Mongolia. The company has identified four new targets through an ongoing regional reconnaissance and exploration program. At the Oval Prospect, it has identified a new outcrop of mineralised gabbro in the South Zone. Exploration also revealed an expansion of the nickel-copper mineralised gabbro at the North Oval area, suggesting a significant northwest extension of primary mineralisation. A new copper-gold mineralisation style has also been discovered at Copper Ridge, 7 kilometres north of the Oval. This discovery features a 30-metre-wide by 400-metre-long zone of silicified, magnetite-altered andesite with significant disseminated chalcopyrite mineralisation. Assay results from rock chip sampling at Copper Ridge yielded maximum values of 0.29 ppm gold, 0.4% copper and over 15% iron. The company says the program, which included mapping, surface geophysical studies, and soil and rock sampling, has significantly advanced geological knowledge in the emerging copper and nickel exploration district.
