You can’t think yourself out of a pattern you didn’t think yourself into. You practiced yourself into it, so you have to practice your way out. This is the premise we'll be exploring together in our new series.
In order for our faith to survive, let alone thrive, in this high paced and complex era, filled with distractions, each believer must choose and practice certain habits in daily life. That’s what this series will arm us with: practical habits for the everyday!
For those of us who are parents or grandparents, the responsibility for vital faith goes well beyond ourselves – it includes our children, our grandchildren and in some instances even great-grandchildren! Proverbs 22:6 speaks of the importance of intentionality where instruction and habits are concerned, “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.”
As someone has said, “Because it is easier to raise strong children than to repair broken men and women.” The Bible records how Daniel and his fellow Hebrew companions were able to serve in Babylon’s courts, while maintaining their faith and their witness. It was their commitment to specific habits that allowed them to be “in the world, but not of it.”
The habits we learn about in this series will enable us to do the same. So whether its for you, or your whole family, this series has something practical and beneficial for everyone!
