A bill to create the Environment Protection Agency is listed for debate in the Senate, but it has yet to secure the support it needs from the opposition or crossbench.

Greens Environment spokesperson, Sarah Hanson-Young has called for the Government to close "loopholes" that water down the power of the agency, and come to an outcome that's "positive for the environment". She says "there is a pathway through" and the Greens are open to compromise in negotiations.
