The debate over how to get more Australians into affordable housing continues to heat up, with Federal Teal independents coming out against higher density planned for Victoria.

Nationals Senator and the Shadow Minister for Infrastructure, Bridget McKenzie says "we need to throw the kitchen sink" at the issue and accuses the Teals of being "the biggest NIMBY's in town".

The Senator has also defended the Opposition's $5 billion pledge to build key housing infrastructure.
