Without Love, it cannot be seen!
But all Love is not equal, all Love is not blessed!
Was Love alone truly never enough?
This week, Sara and Runa finally hear KT and Raven's Full Culprit Theory: Their answers to the who dunnit, the why dunnit, and even a bit of the how. Before we reach that point, however, we discuss Umineko volume 6: Dawn of the Golden Witch!
As the story opens, we see Battler, now donning a cape remarkably similar to the one Kinzo wore in life. He finishes inscribing a magic sigil into the floor of Kinzo's study, signifying the completion of the tale of the 6th game. As he steps back and sighs, Genji tells him of Beatrice's difficulties in crafting the first four tales, her constant battle against the threat of Logic Errors, and the way she cackled proudly even after struggling for so long. And then, Beatrice herself arrives... though she calls Battler 'Father' and seems polite and demure. Battler, frustrated, sends her away harshly. What sort of resurrection was he able to achieve, after Beatrice died in his arms at the fifth game's close?
Umineko no Naku Koro Ni is the second series of When They Cry games published by 07th expansion and written by Ryukishi07. It focuses on a series of mysterious murders carried out over the course of October 4th and 5th, 1986, on the island of Rokkenjima. Volume 6 focuses on the events of Battler's game, after he has ascended to the post of Game Master and Territory Lord - With Bernkastel and Erika as his opponents, he proclaims that he will craft a game that will prove his understanding of the Truth and the deepest core of Beato's mystery. This game begins much like any other, but now Furudo Erika no longer has the power of the Detective's Authority... That is a good thing, isn't it?
While the family members and staff adjust to the presence of their unpleasant guest, Shannon and Kanon discuss their convictions and their respective Loves for George and Jessica. As Kanon finally confesses his love, and as Shannon steels her resolve, a pair of theatrical demons arrives to put the young lovers through a Trial of Love. Zepar and Fufur declare that only one Love can receive the blessing of a miracle! Only one Love can be made whole and strong enough to face the trials of the world! They will grant this blessing only to those who show their convictions... by completing the trials and carrying out the murders of the epitaph.
Please remember that other listeners may still be reading for the first time as you listen to this episode, and help us make sure that they don't get spoiled for any of the mysteries and questions they're working hard to understand!
