This week, Joi Chaney, our Executive Director and Senior Vice President of Policy and Advocacy, sits down with Helen Butler, Executive Director of the Georgia Coalition of the People’s Agenda. They breakdown the current nationwide attack on voting rights, in which Georgia Is ground zero, and Helen Butler – known as a “Goddess of Democracy” -- has been on the front lines. They also talk the U.S. Senate’s recent failure to pass the Freedom to Vote: John R. Lewis act, which would have protected the right to vote no matter where you live. More importantly, they lay out the plan for overcoming these set backs, including what you can do to ensure everyone’s voice is heard in the 2022 elections and beyond.
