In this special three-segment series for Autism Awareness Month, join us, Zahi Atallah and Chris Forde of Let’s Talk Ed, as we discuss inclusivity in higher education. From words, to actions, to understanding, and finally to meaningful support. We challenge the common misconception that accommodation is the way, whereas in reality, it is empathy, mercy, and compassion that are key to a siblinghood with the learners for success.

In the first segment, "Understanding Autism in the Context of Higher Education," we explore how autism can affect individuals on the spectrum and their journey through college and beyond. Zahi shares some of his struggles as an administrator on the spectrum.

Next, in "Creating an Inclusive College Campus: Welcoming, Diversity & Belonging," we discuss practical strategies for building a campus environment that embraces diversity and fosters a sense of belonging for all students, including those with autism. We stress the need to really aim for equity, and not just settle for equality in higher education.

In the final segment, "What Inclusivity is NOT!", we debunk common misconceptions and highlight why true inclusivity goes beyond mere token gestures. The rigor must remain untrammeled, but the support that each person requires should be tailored to help them reach the goals. We argue that it is not about laxity or ableism. Rather it is about an empowerment for learners to have a solid foundation as a starting place in their education.

Join us and write to us and discover why inclusivity is not a freebie, a donation, or a lowering of the bar.

Don't forget to LIKE, SHARE, and SUBSCRIBE to Let's Talk Ed as we strive to revolutionize higher education and create a more inclusive future for all.
