In this episode, Erin Olson discusses Paul's second letter to Timothy, including the first chapter (2 Timothy 1), and effective ways for Christian leaders to get through tough times.

Paul knew he was nearing death as he sat isolated from people in his prison cell in Rome, but he wanted to send his final words of encouragement to Timothy. Paul wanted to remind Timothy of his calling and to not give up.

Paul reminded Timothy of these three things as it related to leadership during tough times.

1) Leaders have power through the Holy Spirit

2) Leaders have the ability to love even those who hate them through the Holy Spirit

3) Leaders have the ability to be self-disciplined through the Holy Spirit

Paul knew Timothy needed encouragement to stay strong, but for many of you today, you need a word of encouragement as well. May this podcast serve this purpose...to encourage you.
